Buyer’s Guide — Bourbon

The Best Bourbons Under $50

Eight bottles that over-deliver on flavor without demanding a secondary-market price. Start here if you’re building a bar worth drinking from.

Why Under $50 Matters

The premium bourbon market has become difficult to navigate. Secondary prices for allocated bottles have distorted expectations, and too many drinkers assume quality requires scarcity. It doesn’t. The $25-50 range in bourbon is arguably the best value tier in American spirits — and most of these bottles are actually available on shelves.

The Eight Best Bottles

1. Buffalo Trace (~$30)

The starting point for any conversation about value bourbon. Vanilla, caramel, light grain, clean finish. Difficult to find in some markets, but worth tracking. At retail price it’s one of the best deals on the shelf.

3. Four Roses Small Batch (~$38)
